Girls On the Run 2023

On Sunday students, parents and teachers from Waynewood Elementary gathered together at the Girls on the Run event at Pentagon City, Arlington. This empowering race not only showcased the physical prowess of our young girls but also emphasized the importance of teamwork, confidence, and resilience. The event was a resounding success, and we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supportive parents, dedicated coaches, and the entire school community.
Portrait of a Graduate Lab - Fall Update

This year students at Waynewood have weekly opportunities to visit the Portrait of a Graduate (POG) Lab. During POG Lab students have spent time developing critial and creative thinking skills and practicing collaboration.

The 14th Annual Gobbler Gallop at Waynewood Elementary School was a resounding success, bringing together students, parents, and staff for a memorable day of fun, fitness, and community spirit. This beloved tradition not only promotes a healthy and active lifestyle but also fosters a sense of togetherness that defines the spirit of Waynewood Elementary.

🚌 Going Above and Beyond: Thank You School Bus Drivers
February 22 is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Fairfax County Public Schools employs more than 1,500 drivers and attendants who transport an estimated 131,000 students safely to and from school each day. Drivers spend several hours in the classroom and behind the wheel before they ever pick up students. Because of this extensive training, one school bus driver knew exactly how to respond when the unexpected happened one morning earlier this school year.
