Fourth Grade Participates in "Bake for Good"
Rising to the Occasion: Our Students Bake for Good!
Last week our fourth grade students participated in King Arthur Baking Company's “Bake for Good” program. Over the past few days, their homes have transformed into bustling bakeries, filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread and the spirit of generosity.
The “Bake for Good” program is a fantastic initiative that empowers students to:
- LEARN: Delve into the fascinating world of bread baking, uncovering the mathematical ratios and scientific processes that make dough rise and bake into delicious loaves.
- BAKE: Put their newfound knowledge to the test, baking at home or in school using ingredients provided by King Arthur Baking Company.
- SHARE: Extend their kindness by sharing their baked goods with others, fostering a sense of community and compassion.
During the school program the students learned the math and science of bread making. Then, with ingredients from King Arthur, they baked at home. They made bread, rolls, even pizza! Some to share with their family, and some to share as an act of kindness.
Our students truly embraced the spirit of sharing! Whether it was a neighbor in need, or simply a gesture of appreciation for a family member, our students demonstrated the power of a simple act of kindness.
The “Bake for Good” program not only provided a valuable learning experience but also instilled a sense of responsibility and community in our students. We're grateful to King Arthur Baking Company for their support and for making this wonderful program possible
